Arkanoid (1988)

Arkanoid is a classic arcade game.

This is one of those games that is hard to get the real experience from on a home system. Some of those games (Outrun, After Burner, Space Harrier, etc.) I wouldn’t even bother trying to play at home. With Arkanoid, the main issue is the lack of a good spinner controller. (If anyone has solved that problem without buying a part and soldering it, please let me know. I’ve tried an Atari 2600 paddle controller but it doesn’t have enough resolution.) A mouse allows you to play a half-decent game of Arkanoid, but it isn’t the same.

This PC version came in an EA-style folder that opens up to display a mini-comic showing how the Arkanoid and Vaus got into their predicament. I am unfortunately missing the actual IBM disk. If anyone has an extra, please let me know.

Arkanoid came in an LP style folder.
