Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell (2002-04)

Splinter Cell – sneak around and be a bad-ass.

This is the first game in the Splinter Cell series. Like the rest of the series, it’s a stealth game where you play as Sam Fisher, a government operative who likes to wear night vision specs, hide on ceilings, do stealth takedowns, etc. He goes on secret missions to do…who knows, who cares. It’s not really the point of the game from what I can tell. The point is to sneak around and be a bad-ass.

Although in the US, this game was released in a standard small box, which I have somewhere, in the UK it was released in a digipak, or keepcase, or whatever you want to call it. A year or so later, some DLC was released for the game (3 extra missions). This release you see here is a UK limited edition that contained the original game digipak, and a bonus CD with the extra missions and bonus videos. It came in a “neoprene case” (what’s that?) with a shoulder harness for ease of carrying. I guess if you want to go play Splinter Cell at your friend’s house, you can carry it there in this case, if you don’t mind looking a bit silly.
